Forget the breakfast of champions — it's all about the footwear of champions. If you wanna handle like Van Axel (to borrow a line from Jay-Z), you gotta have the right sneakers on the court. Even when you're off the court and the scoreboard you're worried about tracks your fashion (rather than your b-ball) moves, the game still centers on the kicks. That's precisely what Adidas Remix has accomplished since its inception in 2007, celebrating the look and fit of the brand's favorite basketball shoes with new, fashion-forward, luxury design elements. The line pays homage to the players within the Adidas family who are labeled the "Commanders" (Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard and Tim Duncan) and those considered "Creators" (Tracy McGrady, Gilbert Arenas and Chauncey Billups) and makes stylish references to the NBA Champions trophy and ring. The three styles consist of: the black, yellow and gold TS Creator x UNDRCRWN, an embossed leather design inspired by the NBA Champions ring (notice how the embossed print replicates the ring's classic design, with the bold block letters running along the perimeter of the square, which boasts rounded edges); the TS Creator Low x UNDRCRWN, a vintage-looking, cream leather-and-canvas model with red-and blue piping; and the TS Commander x UNDRCRWN, a bold hi-top featuring a forest green checkerboard upper, red laces, and a striped green-and-red velcro strap with a gold lace plate featuring the UNDRCWN insignia.

My favorite is the TS Commander X UNDRCRWN, which pays homage to Gucci by borrowing the luxury brand's signature green-and-red color scheme (which, interestingly enough is also the palette most often used when constructing outdoor basketball courts). Now these are some we-fly-high joints!

Wipe Me Down

Turns out Cam'ron was onto something when he said, "Go get ya wet wipes." Okay, so skincare wasn't exactly what he had in mind, but he did make a valuable point: wet naps and baby wipes go a long way in cleaning up sticky messes (get your minds out the gutter, please!). Besides, they're so convenient for those who are on the stick-and-move tip (geesh, what's up with me and these double entendres today? I'm shocking my own self! lol).

Which is probably why beauty companies started selling disposable foaming pads and make-up removal towelettes several years ago — after all, this option allowed women to tuck a packet in their purse and freshen up as needed. With everyone from Olay to Neutrogena releasing their brand of facial wipes, women are now bombarded with options when they stroll by the skincare products aisle of their local drugstores. The drawback? They tend to be loaded with harsh astringents and chemicals.

Shape Shifters

Ate too much over the Christmas holiday? Well, join the club (and no, I don't mean Weight Watchers). Yes, we all tend to overdose on eggnog, pernil, candied yams, macaroni and cheese, arroz con gandules, pumpkin pie, sugar cookies, pecan pie and any chocolates or sweets wrapped in red or green tinfoil. And of course, unless you have an uncannily high metabolism, that will probably lead to some weight gain. But don't press that panic button just yet. Vibeology with Mixology

Don't be fooled by the layered motifs — these aren't slices of gourmet birthday cake topped with nice little candles. Rather, each entire block is a candle — but one so beautiful and fragrant that you could very well give it to someone as a birthday present!

Joya's "New York Mixology" collection, a collaboration with New York city-based design collective Vane, features three candles inspired by classic cocktails: Basil Vodka Gimlet, Passionfruit Gin Martini and Honey Whiskey Fix. And, if there's a science to making the perfect drink (ask any bartender, mixologist or lush out there, and they'll concur), imagine how laborious and calculated it would be to make a candle that captured these unique scents. In order to achieve a layered fragrance experience, each candle was hand poured in installments (imagine how precise you have to be to make that work!)

To accompany each candle (because hey, presentation is everything), ceramic plates were constructed using ceiling tiles. Each recycled ceramic piece was pressed, cut, and hand painted with acrylics in Joya's New York studio.

Oh, and if you're wondering about the "Vibeology" reference in the post's title, that's my silly mind at work — for some reason, the word "mixology" reminded me of that "Vibeology" song Paula Abdul had back in the day, before she became a slurry-speeched punchline (poor lady!) and loopy American Idol judge. Pimp Your Purse

As the old adage goes, "It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind." We have the right — nay, the obligation — to stay true to ourselves (and act accordingly) when we have a change of heart, whether it has to do with a love affair, a professional endeavor, a hair style or an accessory.
