Aside from soft wavy hair, one of the dominant hair looks spotted on the red carpet at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards consisted of simple, no-fuss chignons and buns with soft side parts and a sleek, flat shape along the top of the head and the sides. Big Love star Amanda Seyfried (who had the honor of appearing alongside the illustrious Meryl Streep in the movie version of the beloved ABBA musical stage production Mamma Mia! Seyfried exemplified the look with her pulled-back chignon, a look created by John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh.
In anticipation of the awards ceremony, Josh asked Amanda to wash and moisturize her tresses using the new John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, both of which are designed to replenish essential oils to hair strands and hence help prevent frizz.
Hours before the big night, Josh applied John Frieda Root Awakening Strength Restoring Gel to the roots of Seyfried's damp hair, so as to keep it looking completely flat. He then blow dried the hair using a tail comb as opposed to a round brush so as to avoid creating volume. Josh sprayed the Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear Shape & Shimmer Hairspray as he worked his way through each section so as to make sure Seyfried's natural blond hair color remained vibrant throughout the evening. Parting the hair along the side, he then pulled her blond tresses back and tied them into a low, sleek, minimalist bun.
