Still thirsting for more? Then you'll appreciate these great goodies, available at Urban Outfitters.
Let's start with a new version of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the tale that inspired it all, this time featuring illustrations by one of my fave artists, Camille Rose Garcia. The Los Angeles-based Mexican illustrator, artist,a nd toy designer has an impressive body of work that often references fairy tales, but takes these cartoon-ish children characters and places them in sinister and at times apocalyptic settings in order to make profound statements about the dangers of capitalism, pollution, and nuclear proliferation, among other issues. The 16-paged hard cover book features Garcia's trademark creepy-but-fascinating doll-like characters, which work perfectly with the version of Wonderland imagined by director Tim Burton created, which has a dark, gothic, scary-but-beautiful allure. Check out the cover art and the interior illustration pictured above for a taste of the art in the book. As far as the text, it's actually the unabridged version of Carroll's original book.
Now, if you're looking for a little trinket for your home that has a Wonderland twist, check out the 11 oz. Wonderland tumbler glasses, which feature four John Tenniel illustrations from the original book: "2 Playing Cards," "Alice & Cards," "Growing Alice," and "Unbirthday." Below, you'll find an image of the "Unbirthday" tumbler glass, which pays homage to the famous party thrown for the Queen of Hearts.
